Tales Of Humanity and Greed
Release Date: May 22nd 2020
France’s death metal quintet return with third album – Tales: Of Humanity and Greed which was Recorded, mixed and mastered by Frederic “El Mobo” Motte at Conkrete Studio from April to July 2019.
Opener “The Storyteller” is more of a short prologue that leads into “The Blind and the Greedy”
“The Knotted Bag” refers to a bag usually tied to a long stick with the traveler’s belongings enclosed, the band has created a unique series of videos to accompany some of the tracks of this album with this being one of them. I highly recommend checking out as it’s done really well & is a great tale.
“I am Davy Jones” continues the myth & legend theme but then the band enters Time And Relative Dimension In Space with “Rise of the Sontarans”.
“A Few Drops Of Blood” splash into what could be a reference to the French-Japanese animated series co-produced by DiC Audiovisuel and Studio Pierrot. Les Mystérieuses Cités d’Or, “City of Gold”
“Dire For Termina” is the highlight track of the album as it has everything I love about melodeath in one track, the band delve back into folklore with “Yuki-Onna” yōkai is a spirit in Japanese folklore believed to inhabit locations with snowy mountains where she feeds off human life energy
The album finishes off with a 10 minute track with tons Progressive elements “Scums of Hamelin”
Tales: Of Humanity and Greed is definitely the band’s most ambitious & experimental release to date with everything from Folklore to Pop culture whilst still maintaining their melodeath roots throughout
4 out of 5 skulls.
