In Review: Blood Oath – Infernum Rex Diabolus

The band drenched in the (fake) blood of their enemies return with their second offering Infernum Rex Diabolus

Now usually when I review something I would’ve received a promo in advance before release but on this occasion, I received a physical copy as it came as part of a pre-order bundle from the band themselves.

Blood Oath formed in 2017 & self-released their debut Kingdom of Dead Souls, fast forward to 2019 & even though the band returned to Initiate Audio and Media Studios everything about Inernum Rex Diabolus captivates you and the progression of the band as a whole is apparent especially when both releases are side by side.

Well shit Thrax you made the bloody Foxes run away again

The start to Infernum Rex Diabolus starts off Dark & Menacing with the opener Angels to Some… Demons to Others, the song already had me with the lyrics as they are based around my favorite horror franchise Hellraiser. From then on the savagery & brutality is ramped up tenfold & if the band made an oath this time around to Melt your brain then they have clearly succeeded doing this whilst at the same time producing a huge sounding masterpiece.

If this hasn’t got you wanting more the band also released a video for the title track

Blood Oath are:

Mark ‘Thrax’ Johnson – Vocals

Frazer Hart – Guitar

Mike Freeman – Guitar

Bill Fordham – Bass

Ady McGlennon – Drums

Infernum Rex Diabolus will be released 2nd November 2019 at a very special album release party at Firebug in Leicester. I will 100% be there as I sold my Machine Head ticket just so I didn’t miss it

Without a doubt one the easiest 5 of 5 stars this year & it’s truly well deserved.
