Italy’s black/doom metal outfit Fordomth unleash Is, Qui Mortem Audit – Mixed at Toxic Basement Studio (Monza – IT) by Carlo Altobelli
Mastered at Liquid Aether Audio (Cologne – DE) by Mario Dahmen
The album is the result of a conceptual and formal research about the nature of existence, the universe and the role of death.
Opener “Esse” is a tirade of bleak unadulterated misery from its savage beginning & end parts combined with the ominous midpoint. The onslaught continues with “Audere” but there is something swirling in this particular track that is totally mesmerizing and bone-chilling and just couldn’t prepare myself for it to end so it ended up on repeat a few times so it should come as no surprise that this is my highlight track of the release.
Thundering through next is “Scire” with is laced with some phenomenal slower parts and final track “Mors” delivers for me the best guitar parts of the release.
The cassette edition will contain two bonus tracks “Untitled” and “The Chanting Void” which is being released by Brucia Records together with Fresh Outbreak Records & Masked Dead Records
This is a release that will let you gaze into the forbidden pages of existence and death itself, seizing a form of unspeakable knowledge
Compellingly bleak and miserable
5 out of 5 skulls
